What DebutPin is

DebutPin is a launch board for indie makers. You publish a product, people vote and leave feedback, and we rank what's getting attention: today's launches on the hot board, makers who keep shipping on the active board.

We don't sell your product, we don't take a cut of anything you sell elsewhere, and we're not part of any deal you make with another maker.

Your account

You sign in with GitHub or Google. There's no password to forget, and signing in with both gives you two separate accounts — we don't merge them.

Your username is your public address and can't be changed later. Keep your GitHub or Google account safe: whoever can sign in as you can act as you.

You must be at least 16 to hold an account, and at least 18 to buy a paid tier.

What you post

What you upload stays yours. By posting it you let us store it, resize it and show it on the site — that's all we do with it.

Post only what's yours to post, and make it real: a product people can actually reach, screenshots of your own work, a description you'd stand behind. Borrowed screenshots or a listing with nothing behind it gets removed.

What we don't allow

• Anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
• Malware, phishing, scams, fake products, or listings with no product behind them.
• Adult content, hate, harassment, or someone else's private information.
• Vote, task or credit manipulation — vote rings, multiple accounts, scripts, bought votes, or trading votes for anything.
• Bulk or off-topic promotion, and scraping the site or other people's data.
• Trying to break, overload or probe the service, or routing around the limits described here.

Review, removal and suspension

Every product is reviewed before it goes live. We aim to answer within 48 hours. We can reject a listing, take it offline, or close an account when we believe these terms have been broken.

We'll normally tell you what happened and what to fix. Votes and credits earned by manipulation can be taken back, and we don't refund a listing we removed for breaking the rules.

The link back

Free listings are paid for with a link. Your product's own site has to carry a visible link back to DebutPin that doesn't use rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored", and we check it before you submit.

We re-check it every 7 days. If it's gone the listing goes offline by itself — the product page returns 404 and it drops off the boards — and it comes straight back, with its original publication date, as soon as the link is there again. There's no appeal queue, because there's nothing to argue about: the check is just "is the link there".

Paid tiers buy this out permanently. Once you've bought it out you're never in the re-check queue and you don't need a link at all.

Votes and the boards

One vote per person per product, and you can take it back. You can't vote for your own product. 20 votes a day, resetting at 00:00 Pacific Time.

The hot board ranks today's launches by today's votes and resets every day at 00:00 Pacific Time. The active makers board is about what you shipped: tasks, product updates, completed collaborations. Paid placements count toward neither — they live only in the Sponsored area at the top of the home page.

Votes that look automated — a burst from one address, say — still register, but they don't count toward the board. We publish the shape of the formulas, not the tuning constants, so nobody can aim at the numbers.

Paid tiers

Two one-time tiers. $5.90 buys out the link requirement permanently; $15.90 includes that buyout plus seven days in the home page Sponsored area. Prices are in US dollars, and tax is calculated from your location at checkout.

Nothing renews. There's no subscription, and we won't charge you again without a new checkout. Your card statement shows DebutPin.

Paid tiers don't change your ranking, don't get you a faster review, and don't jump any queue. The seven sponsored days start when your listing goes live, not when you pay. You can upgrade a live listing later by paying the difference.

Refunds

If the listing never went live — we rejected it, or you withdrew it first — you get all of it back.

If it went live, we refund the unused part of the seven days. Once the window has ended there's nothing left to refund.

A refund undoes everything the order granted, including a permanent buyout. A product with no link back goes offline then, exactly like a free listing without one.

We don't refund a listing we removed for breaking these terms.

Email hello@debutpin.com with your order and we'll take it from there. Refunds go back to the card you paid with.

Collaboration between makers

DebutPin passes structured requests — peer review, mutual promotion, resource swaps, joint deals — and, once both sides confirm, the contact details you chose to share. We don't vet anyone, and we have no chat.

Once contacts are exchanged it's between the two of you. Use the same judgement you'd use anywhere else.

Our side of the deal

We keep the site up and try to keep the boards right, but we promise you no traffic, no users, no ranking and no uptime. The service is provided as is.

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

We may change or retire parts of DebutPin. If we retire something you paid for before its time is up, we refund the unused part.

Changes and contact

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and we'll flag anything significant where you'll actually see it. Using DebutPin after that means you accept the new version.
